IBNA: The Culture Ministry executed a collection of cultural programs with the aim of promoting virtues in the society, heightening public awareness in various areas, grasping emerging talents and sprit of research and innovation, dissemination of Islamic culture and arts, raising global awareness of the principles and objectives of the Islamic Revolution, expanding cultural ties with other nations especially Islamic nations of the world and providing the grounds for the unity of Moslems all around the world.

Establishing the Quranic Department of the Culture Ministry, donating 32 billions of rials worth of books to all the country's provinces, offering 120 million rials worth of book titles to Imam Hussein Mosque, granting 1,500 book volumes to Razmandegan Islam Congregation, offering 3 billion rials worth of book, holding the 25th Tehran International Book Fair, signing MOUs with the Ministries of Health and Industry are only a few of the major activities pursued by the Culture Ministry during the previous year.

Furthermore, the Ministry allocated large sums to credit libraries in the quake-stricken areas of Eastern Azerbaijan, and allotted 64 billion rials worth of books to all the culture and Islamic guidance administrations of the country.

Besides, the Cultural Deputy of the Ministry visited a number of book stores in Tehran to learn about their concerns and issues. He also met with members of the union of print industry exporters to work out ways to resolve their problems in the industry. Other activities of the deputy were visiting the National Library and Archives Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran and establishing the planning panel of the cultural Department of the Ministry.

Other activities of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance are as follows: meeting between Caretaker of the Cultural Department of the Ministry with owners of various print-houses in Qom and Qazvin provinces, offering 50,000 book volumes to the Jahad Daneshgahi, arranging seminars with cultural deputies of Culture and Islamic Guidance administrations of the country, holding the policy making council of the 3rd International Persian Gulf Festival, holding the 20th International Quran Exhibition, carrying out cultural weeks in other countries like Russia, arranging the 10th Imam Reza Scientific Conference, and organizing the 20th Book Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
