Iranian poet Mohammad-Javad Mohabbat passes away
Born in 1943, he died in his hometown where he lived most of his life. For over 40 years, Mohabbat composed delicate poems in two main forms of Persian poetry ghazal (ode) and masnavi (couplet).

The 'Two Pines', a masanvi which tells the story of friendship between two pine trees and its impact on communication lines outside a village, made Mohabbat famous in Iran after the poem appeared in schoolbooks, IRNA reported.

From 1983, the poet was a member of a group of writers and contributors of textbooks for Iranian schoolchildren.
