IBNA- On the sidelines of the 39th Istanbul Book Fair, Iran's Book and Literature House ‎which represents the publishing industry of our country held a meeting with the officials ‎of this fair discussing book promotion plans.‎
‎39th Istanbul Book Fair hosts Iranian and Turkish book officials‎
The fair which is being held after a three-year due to the COVID-19 pandemic opened on December 3 and will run by December 11.
During the meeting, Iranian officials introduced the Grant, TEDA and TOP plans aimed to promote the translation and publication of Persian books into other languages.
Among the topics which were discussed at the sessions were: The friendship and cultural commonalities between the two countries of Iran and Turkey, facilitating the attendance of Turkish and Iranian publishers in the international fairs of the two countries.
Proposing plans for the translation of books into Turkish and Persian languages, holding training workshops of the grant plan at the Tehran International Book Fair to be attended by Turkish translators, and the possibility of inviting Iran as the guest of honor of the Istanbul International Book Fair were the other topics which were negotiated.
Iran's Book and Literature House has presented over 275 titles of books on a variety of subjects such as  Persian classical and contemporary literature,  children and young adult literature, art, academic books, Iranian studies, sacred defense, religion and so on in this edition of Istanbul Book Fair.
Established 38 years ago and is the largest event in the Turkish book industry with no significant competitors. With almost half a million visitors, it is the fair with the most access to readers in Europe. Hundreds of events and book signings make the fair one of the foremost cultural activities in the city. The fair is held in association with the Turkish Publishers Association.
