IBNA- The representative of the Noor Cultural Foundation from the Republic of Azerbaijan said by introducing the foundation’s books to the 34th Tehran International Book Fair they try to improve religious knowledge and promote Islamic thinking.
Mahyar Sharifzadeh told IBNA: The Noor Cultural Foundation has produced and published Islamic and religious books for the past 30 years. During that time, the foundation has been able to publish over 700 titles of books. Some of them have been authored and others are translations.
“Translated books include Iranian works such as ‘The Story of Martyrs’ like defenders of the holy shrines, memoirs and biographies of individuals who have sacrificed themselves, the biography of Haj Qassem Soleimani, and the speeches of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which have been translated into Azeri language. Moreover, another activity of this cultural foundation is the launch of a virtual library where audio versions of all 700 book titles are available. Individuals who understand Azeri but cannot read, can listen to their favorite books through the virtual library,” he said.
“The target audience of these books are youth, teenagers, and children, with the aim of promoting Islamic thinking and strengthening the spirit of self-sacrifice and selflessness. Noor Cultural Foundation has brought over 150 titles of books to this exhibition, with the majority of them being Persian works translated into Azeri, and some other books, such as the narrations of the infallible Holy Imams, being authored in a simple language for children,” Sharifzadeh stated.
“The reception from the people has been extraordinary, and we truly did not expect non-Azerbaijani visitors to visit our stand in such numbers. We witnessed many students visiting our books because of their research interests in Azeri culture. As a gesture of appreciation, we would offer them their favorite books as gifts. This extensive reception has motivated the Noor Cultural Foundation to seek further cultural connections with Iran in the future,” he added.
With the motto, "The future is readable", the 34th Tehran International Book Fair opened on May 10 and ran until May 20. Tajikistan was the guest of honor in this edition of the TIBF. The fair was held both by physical presence in Mosalla (Grand Prayer Ground) of Imam Khomeini, and virtually on https://ketab.ir.
