‘Guy and the Goblin City’, the latest book by Iranian writer and illustrator Sadaf Fadaeian, has been picked up for the 2014 Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

The forthcoming edition of Bologna Children’s Book Fair will be launching a new initiative entitled “Don’t Tell the Grown-ups- A Week of Children’s Books and Cultural Activities”. The initiative has a completely new format, designed and implemented for young readers, their parents, professionals involved in children’s development, well-being and culture, and young adults.
The new section will be held from the weekend before the fair opens, 22nd March, and continuing throughout the fair until 27th March. The format includes a large international bookstore boasting the best of children’s publishing.
The main initiatives will include a collateral section of the Illustrators Exhibition entitled “Spotlight on Reading” which is organized in partnership with the Giannino Stoppani Cultural Cooperative.
The works of fifty illustrators, submitted for selection for the Illustrators Exhibition, will focus on myriad ways of reading accompanied by passages devoted to reading written by children’s authors.
Sadaf Fadaeian’s book will be showcased at the “Spotlight on Reading” section.
In other news, leading Iranian publisher of children’s books Shabaviz Company is slated to attend the 2014 edition of Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
The Iranian company is planning to offer some 440 of its latest publications illustrated by 140 artists at the event, said the director of Shabaviz Publications, Farideh Khalatbari.
Established in 1964, Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the most important international event for professionals involved in children’s publishing.
Each year publishers, literary agents, authors, illustrators, editors, translators, librarians and booksellers meet in Bologna to enjoy the best in children's books and digital products.
The 2014 Bologna Children’s Book Fair will take place from March 24 through 27.
