During the session held yesterday (September20) at the Book City Center on the Persian translation of 'Who is to Blame', Abtin Golkar reviewed the life and works of Aleksandr Herzen as a Russian socialist and writer.

Director of Children and young adult's reference library said that the center is planning to promote book reading and exchange data and sources with other countries. He hoped that the center would change into an international library.
Poetry given full support, says Culture Minister

On the sidelines of the 2nd Conference of "Iran and the World Poets", Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini asserted that poetry receives full support of all sections of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Also, Yahya Talebian Culture Ministry's deputy of literature and poetry stated that the main goal of holding the conference is exchange of ideas and experiences between world poets and reaching peace and brotherhood.

Press conference of Iran's Artists Organization's art research plans was held on Monday (September 20) in Iran's Artists Organization. According to the center's managing director Majid Sarhangi, "Encyclopedia of Quranic arts" and "Encyclopedia of Shiite arts" will be released by the center in Iran for the first time.

During the fifth session of 'Discourses on Attar', academic member of Alzahra University said the relationship between Attar's characters are not predictable nor is it based on social structures; the relations are rather transitory and accidental. Attar's individuals are picked up from the mass of people instead of the nobility and he does not attribute himself to any particular class.

A book fair opened on Saturday evening in the National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) on the occasion of Ukraine's 20th independence anniversary. The "Night Shift Research" service of the National Library of Iran was launched last night (Saturday, 10th September) with the presence of the director and vice-managers of the National Library and Archives of Iran. From now on, the National Library offers round-the-clock services to its members and researchers.

Alzahra University professor said despite Rumi, Attar always minded structure. In other words, he imagined up to the final stages of a work before beginning it and then knew how to wend it throughout the process, whereas Rumi is an improviser with no preplanned framework.

Secretariat of the 31st anniversary of commemorating Sacred Defense Week announced that most of its programs will be based on books and publishing works related to Iraq's imposed war against Iran including unveiling two reference artistic Sacred Defense books and equipping 105 foreign state's libraries with the field's works.
