Schopenhauer; philosopher of culture and virtue

During the session held on Schopenhauer at the House of Literati, philosophy professor Hamid Talebzadeh said: as a philosopher Schopenhauer had realized the boredom and monotony of quotidian life and suggested piety as a means to freedom. Hence, he is truly entitled as the philosopher of culture and virtue.

During the critical session on “Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair” held Sunday afternoon at the International Hall of Literati of 24th TIBF, Kashefi said: “One of the key points of globalizing Iranian books is to learn to write in English, especially in the field of children’s literature where we have a lot to offer to the world.” He regarded book markets of Indonesia, China and Brunei as virgin markets for presentation of Iranian books.

During the specific session “A Survey of Current and Desired Translation State”, Dr Bidaj referred to the main purpose of translation as familiarization with culture of the Oher and then recognition of the Self in that culture. He added: “If there are human commonalities in a translation, we can call it well-done.”

A session was held Tuesday evening in the House of Literati on evaluating "Living Religions: An Encyclopedia of the World's Faiths". During the session Bahaoddin Khorramshahi suggested the book for reading and talked about the work's great translation and context. He said that the book is a great work on introducing the world's faiths and its reprints could verify the matter."
