389 Arab and Foreign Publishing Houses Participate in al-Assad Library International Book Fair
More than 389 Arab and Foreign publishing houses will participate in the 26th edition of al-Assad Library International Book Fair which opens on Thursday at Damascus Fairground. IBNA: According to news, Iran, America, Democratic Korea, Russia, Spain, Italy, India and Turkey will display their publications in the Fair.
12 Arab countries will also participate in the event including Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco and Qatar.
In a statement to SANA, Director General of al-Assad Library Ali al-Aidi said "Doha will participate in the Fair as a guest of honor because it is the Arab capital of culture for 2010, and a special pavilion will be assigned for it to display books reflecting the great cultural aspects of Qatar."
The fair will be held over an area of 63,000 square meters. It depends on a new way of displaying books that will it make it easier for visitors to find the books they want.
