During the opening ceremony of the 18th International Quran Fair, which was held last night in Imam Khomeini's Mosalla, the Islamic Guidance & Culture Minister said that the fair is a unique and spiritual move which is presenting Quranic instructions via artistic viewpoints.

IBNA: The opening ceremony of the 18th International Quran Fair was held with the attendance of the Islamic Guidance & Culture Minister, Seyyed Mohammad Hussieni, the head of the 18th Quran Fair, Hujjatul Islam Hamid Mohammai, Mashhad's Friday prayer's leader, Mohammad reza Alm-ulhoda and a group of officials and media fellows.

During the ceremony Seyyed Mohammad Hussieni said: "The event is unique throughout the world, hope that the move promotes the Book throughout the world."

Talking about the activities of the Guidance Ministry he added:" The Islamic Guidance and Culture Minister will hold international competitions, sent reciters to foreign countries, invite reciters from Islamic communities, back Quranic institutes and translate and print Qurans into other languages."

He went on to say that all the edition's activities are merged with Quranic instructions and said:" In order to fulfill the goal, many measures have been taken of which I can point out to using artistic tools in producing 22 fields including short movies, animations, documents, calligraphy, theatre, poetry and literature and short stories in presenting Quranic instructions."

Talking about the motto of the 18th Quran Fair he said: "The motto, "Quran the Book of life", will encourage everyone to place the Book as the basic of social and individual life which guaranties the felicity of life and hereafter."

In other news the head of the 18th Quran Fair, Hujjatul Islam Hamid Mohammai said: "During the 18th Fair 5 policies were considered; "Presenting Iran's all Quranic capacities and abilities", "Accompanying arts with Quranic instructions", "Quranic institutes' collaboration", "Internationalizing the fair" and "Applying the fair's ventilation system".

Talking about the fair's new programs he said:" A space sprawling over an area of 90,000sqm has presented 32 new sections. Moreover 9 other new sections were added; "Quranic insight", "Zionistology", "Sunny night", "108 stage theatres and 161 street theatres" and "Hijab and virtue".

He went on to say that 343 foreign and national publishers are participating. Moreover in the Latin and Arabic section Quranic works will be sold as well and in the international section publishers and representatives from 25 countries will take part.
Finally Mohammad reza Alam-alhoda said: "All artistic works should be based on Quran."

The 18th International Quran Exhibition will be held from 8 August to 3 September (concurrent with 27 Sha’ban to 23 Ramadhan) at the site of Imam Khomeini Mosalla, including different sections of Howzeh, University, Education, research and Quranic conversations, cultural products, books and publication, information technology and digital media, children, teens and family, circles and ceremonies, poetry and literature, Quran translation, theater and dramatic arts, international, 8 years of holy defense and Quranic vision, visual arts, photography, and institutions.
