"Stanley" to visit TIBF
"Stanley, Flat Again!", the last volume of "Flat Stanley's series has been rendered into Persian by Parvin Jelveh-nejhad and will be presented at the 25th Tehran International Book Fair. IBNA: "Stanley, Flat Again!" a book by the American writer Jeff Brown has been marketed in Iran.
The idea for Stanley came to him one night at bedtime when his sons J. C. and Tony were young and stalling for time. One asked what would happen if the big bulletin board on the wall were to fall on J. C., and Mr. Brown said he would most likely wake up flat. That led to speculation about what such a life might be like.
Works as "Stanley and the Magic Lamp," "Stanley in Space," "Stanley's Christmas Adventure," "Invisible Stanley" have been rendered into Persian so far.
"Stanley, Flat Again!" is about Stanley who has become flat again, and when his little brother tries to inflate him with a basketball pump, it hurts too much to continue. In the episodic plot, the boy is diagnosed by Dr. Dan, participates as a sail in a sailboat race, and executes a dangerous rescue in a collapsed building that only he in his flatness can attempt…
The 25th Tehran International Book Fair will be held from May 2 to 12, 2012 at Tehran's Grand Imam Khomeini Prayer Ground with the motto of "A Quarter of a Century of Cultural Jihad".
