IBNA: A session was held Sunday evening, May 6, at the 25th Tehran International Book Fair entitled "The role of Europe's Islamic society in Islamic Awakening" which was attended by Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Tehran Amir Haji Kadonij, Manager of Iran-Bosnia Friendship Association's Research Center Javad Asayesh as well as a cultural expert Hojatoleslam Abulqasemi.

Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Tehran Amir Haji Kadonij expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the Tehran International Book Fair and said:" I am attending the book fair for the 3rd time. In fact the fair is expanding year by year."

He then talked about the attendance of several Iranian publishers and cultural activists in Bosnia saying that institutes including Avicenna (Ibn Sina), Mollasadra and Persian-Bosnian College are working in our country and works including Divan of Sa'adi and Hafez have been released in Bosnian.

Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Tehran talked about the first book which was released in his country in 1866 and said:" Book's publication didn’t stop in Bosnia even during the war with Serbs (1992-1996) and following that book fairs were mounted in the country. However the country holds a limited book market and annually only 1000 titles are released."

Kadonij added:" Cultural issues are related to economical issues and the recent economic crisis in European countries influenced the publication situation and Bosnia was not an exception. "

Furthermore Javad Asayesh delivered a speech saying that the European Islamic societies are divided into two groups; some accepted immigrants while the others were originally Muslims. These groups influenced the formation of Islamic Awakening.

He then talked about Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's trip to Yugoslavia during his presidency saying that he visited Sarajevo. During his trip he visited the city's mosques."

Asayesh talked about the Muslims of Europe and added:" Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina are the biggest clan in the country but they are among the minorities. On the other hand the group was a vanguard in Europe."

Finally Hojatoleslam Abulqasemi said that the world is on the verge of a new beginning. The people of Sarajevo had a great effect on the formation of the uprising in Europe since due to the war with the Serbs and the innocence of Sarajevo the world had become sensitive to Islam.
