National Library of Iran to attend Frankfurt Book Fair

4 Aug 2010 15:01
The PR and international affairs manger of National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) said: "As the first experience, the National Library of Iran will attend the 2010 Frankfurt Book Fair's library section."
IBNA: Hamed Yari said:" The Frankfurt Book Fair is a great opportunity for introducing Iran's libraries services to the world. Our pavilion will present the library's services in particular the Iranology and Islamology section. We believe that Iran's National Library should be the great source and reference of Shiite books in the world."

He underlined:" Hope that we find new partners in the specialized section of Iranology and Islamology to operationalise the source and researchers in the international level. So attending the fair could be a positive development source of presenting the National Library's specialized services."

Moreover he added:" On the fair's sidelines, the head of the National Library and the president's advisor will visit the book fair."

As one of the most important publishing events, the fair attracts more than 7,300 exhibitors from 100 countries each year, over 14,000 scouts and agents and around 180,000 trade visitors alone.

NLAI is the most active library in the Middle East. The library is a member of IFLA, International Council of Archives as well as the Council of Asia-Pacific World Memory Program."
