Mehdi Haji-khodaverdi-khan, the appreciation deserving author of the Military Science section in 29th Book of the Year Book Award, about Hows of compiling the book; "Mehran during the Upheavals of Iran-Iraq War" said: with the constantly support and follow up of the Holy Defense Research and Documentation Center, first-hand documentations, were collected from different units and were used in compiling the book.

IBNA: Haji-khodaverdi-khan, the author of "Mehran during the Upheavals of Iran-Iraq War" and the appreciation deserving author in the Military Science of the 29th Book of the Year award, in an interview with Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) said about this work: This work has been developed in 5 chapters entitling: "The invasion of Iraqi army and occupation of Mehran", "Valfajr-3 Operation: Mehran setting free", "The Iraqi army's Moving Defense Strategy: Mehran re-occupation", "Karbala-1 Operations: Planning, Identification, Preparation" and "Karbala-1 Operations: Description of Operations. " 

He added: the geography of Mehran border city and introducing its strategic areas and heights, it's people's culture and social customs, the way how this border city was actually occupied by Saddam, as well as the description how the city was eventually re-freed within the war different phases, have all been clarified focusing on detailing Valfajr-3 and Karbala-1 Operations. 

This holy defense researcher, pointed out to the positive impact of the Year Book Award on motivating authors; explained the characteristics of works complied in the Holy Defense Research and Documentation Center that is indeed the publisher of his discussing book and noted: the researching approach of this center, availability of the first-hand documentations and research-based framework are amongst the most important features of HDRDC's books.

Clarifying the Regulatory and advisory activities Center's officials with the purpose of maintaining the works credibility; Haji-Khodaverdi-khan said: each year, these standards are updated. Several consultative meetings are held with content supervisors and the authors of the Holy Defense Research and Documentation Center, and this close relationship, leads to the content and thematic richness of centers' books as well.

He focused on the impact of such meeting on the enrichment of the book: "Mehran during the Upheavals of Iran-Iraq War" and said: with the constantly support and follow up of the Holy Defense Research and Documentation Center, first-hand documentations, were collected from different units and were used in compiling the book.
 
The virtual appreciated writer of the 29th IRI Book of the Year Award continued: before the book "Mehran during the Upheavals of Iran-Iraq War" reaches its formulation final step; new materials and documents were added to it. Moreover, in addition to writing down the war narrators' tapes, I recorded myself, about 50 hours of interviews with the battalions' commanders and influential figures to complete the information as much as possible. 

Mehdi Haji-Khoadaverdi-khan said at the end: If the book "Mehran during the Upheavals of Iran-Iraq War" comes to its second edition, some corrections related to the geography of the region will be applied in it; based on the local commanders comments.

This book has been published in 736 pages, with a circulation of 2000 copies, and at the cost of 75000 R, by Holy Defense Research Center and Documentations. 

M. Haji-Khodaverdi-khan has been ranked as the 2nd in the military research group of the 15th Year Book Festival of Holy Defense; due to compilation of the book "Mehran during the Upheavals of Iran-Iraq War"

Introducing the best works, the 29th round of Book of the Year Award closing ceremony was held in the Vahdat Hall, in Feb. 19, 2012.
