Roudaki Foundation's activities set in motion

25 Feb 2011 12:20
Behrouz Mahmoudi Bakhtiari, educational and research assistant of Roudaki Cultural Artistic Foundation announced holding a conference, supporting researchers, and Commemoration of Roudaki in agenda.
IBNA: Bakhtiari said: "As the title of Roudaki Cultural Artistic Foundations entails cultural activities in line with artistic productions, the cultural activities are steered towards research and provision of research facilities."

He added: "This is achieved in three ways of research, library equipment, and provision of facilities for the experts within the foundation."

Bakhtiari continued: "I accepted this responsibility in order to realize one of my oldest dreams, that is, building a comprehensive library of arts. I had the opportunity to be in charge of the specific library of the faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran and so I was conscious of the students' problems and needs, lack of research facilities, limitation of access and infrequency of foreign sources."

He added: "I hope that my presence in Roudaki Foundation would enable me to first equip the library of arts, support young researchers and sponsor launching databanks."

"We have already negotiated for launching Azadi library as it is to the possession of the foundation. Support for researchers could be achieved in two ways: first, they can submit their researches to the conferences to get published later and secondly through Roudaki Publications. I insist that important works especially superior PhD and MA dissertations should be published. We have also considered a research fund for the researchers."

Bakhtiari asserted: "Designing Iranian cultural calendar including all significant cultural events and birth and death dates of great cultural figures is already achieved. The next plan was to imply human forces and internet sources for making a digital library that was achieved within 4 months and we succeeded in collecting a digital library of 15 thousand volumes that is a peerless achievement. These works include books published between 2005 to 2011 most of which are out of access or expensive. The library members can have free access to these sources."

Bakhtiari also referred to the Drama Linguistics Conference that was supposed to be held in February but is postponed to May 2011. All students, graduates and colleagues having done researches on the issue of drama linguistics can submit their articles to this conference.

He continued: "The Roudaki Commemoration Ceremony and publication of two scientific research journals are in the 2011 agenda. Meanwhile we tend to connect Roudaki Foundation to active cultural centers like the central library of the University of Tehran or the National Library. We will also support all conferences leading to the publication of good works."
