Elected: council members of Islamic publishers' union
Members of the executive council of the Muslim publishers' union were elected at the closing of the second International Islamic World Publishers Conference yesterday, November 13, 2011. IBNA: On the second and closing day of the conference, an election was held to choose members of the executive council of the publishers and representatives from African countries, Asia and the Pacific, North America, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union were elected.
Formation of the union was officially ratified in a general assembly held on the first day of the conference attended by representatives of Muslim publishers.
Moreover, the memorandum of articles' draft of the union was discussed and approved by the publishers and based on a unanimous agreement, Ali Zarei Najafdari was elected as the union's secretary general, head of the executive council and the permanent secretariat.
The following are the elected members of the council: Bi Aliun Bedara from Senegal to represent African countries Amir Abbas Taghipur from the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Ebrahim Shafiei and Seyyed Musa Husseini from Afghanistan Abdolaziz Nezarodin from Sri Lanka Meftah Rahmat Fozi from Indonesia to represent Asia and the Pacific Adel Ahmad Abdolmojud from Egypt to represent African and Arabic countries Hussein Kahlifeh from Lebanon Gholab Zabih Mostafa from Algeria representing western Europe and north America Hoda Shafigh from Canada Musa Gunesh from Turkey Mohammad Haghparast from Brazil And Ramid Dadasheve from Azerbaijan
