Manager of NLAI: “National Library’s budget shrinks”
During the Iftar ceremony of the National Library and Archives of Iran with the media fellows, the organization’s manager said: “By the next three years, the library’s capacity will be full. Moreover the organization’s budget, similar to all other state centers, has decreased.” IBNA: On the occasion of the 160th year of issuing the command of constitution, an exhibition opened last night, Tuesday, entitled “Awakening onset” which was house to photos and documents themed on the issue of constitution. The exhibition opened with the attendance of the manger of National Library and Archives of Iran Ishagh Salahi as well as a group of media fellows.
Ishagh Salahi talked about the activities of the National Library saying: “A guest visited the National Library a while ago who compared the library’s facilities with the National Library of France endorsing the quality of our facilities. Many ambassadors and cultural attaché has acknowledged the matter as well.”
He emphasized that the archives of the National Library is our identity and however a part of the history may not be our ideal it can be a lesson for us to learn its positive instructions. He then talked about the exhibition of “From Ramadan to Ramadan” saying: “A selection of handwritten and donated Quran copies were displayed during the holy month of Ramadan which indeed can be a great research source for scholars.”
Traveling to different Muslim countries we learned that Quran can be our joint axis thus the pavilion of the National Library at the 20th Quran Exhibition is exhibiting Quranic manuscripts of 15 Muslim countries, he noted.
Some countries sent the original works for us while some other sent the scanned pictures. Moreover the cultural experts of Georgia, Armenia and Tajikistan, who are working on the Quranic manuscripts, are present at the library’s pavilion, Salahi added.
Inaugurating the exhibition of “Awakening onset”, Salahi congratulated the Day of Journalists and said: “We will warmly welcome positive critics. Moreover he announced readiness to hold monthly specialized sessions with the media fellows. Moreover he asked the journalists to compare the National Library with the National Libraries of other countries and present their suggestions for improving the facilities.”
In other news, he said: “The personal library of Ayatollah Jannati was donated to the National Library.”
He then said that an agreement was sealed between the National Library and Kelk Simin publications. The library is house to a handwritten Quran from Qom which is indeed a precious work. We have decided to republish the work in 2000 copies as facsimile versions. Iran will hold joint exhibitions of manuscripts in other countries like the one which was held in Tunisia, Salahi said.
By the next three years, the library’s capacity will be full, he lamented and added: “According to the ratification of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, all the theses and researchers of state centers will be transferred to the library.” Id : 145794 |
