Manager of manuscripts reservoir of the University of Tehran’s Central Library announced the completion of scanning all manuscripts kept in this library by next week.

IBNA: Soosan Asili, manager of manuscripts reservoir of the University of Tehran’s Central Library said: “There are about 17 thousand manuscripts kept in this library that are all in good conditions due to careful preservation.”

She announced that the scan task of all manuscripts kept in this center will be over by next week and added: “we undertook this task in a 2 year span of time and the manuscripts will be accessible through the Consortium’s portal after completion of scanning.”

Asili continued: “Moreover, individuals can also access the manuscript scans by referring to the library.”

Manager of manuscripts reservoir of the University of Tehran’s Central Library added that %80 of the scan task of documents is also done and will be completed in the near future.”

She finally mentioned that no new manuscript will be added to this central library and the responsibility is transferred to the national library. However, acceptation of new manuscripts is possible in the case of further donations.
