A novel based on the life of martyr Hussein Lashgari will be written by Mohammad Bodaghi.

IBNA: In an interview with IBNA, Mohammad Bodaghi, writer, said that he is working on his new book entitled as 18 Years of Solitude based on the life and martyrdom of General Hussein Lashgari who died in Lalel Hospital in 2009 due to serious injuries left on his body since Iran-Iraq war.

“I believe that the 8 years of the war were only a part of the Sacred Defense because many Iranian captives were kept in Iraqi camps and went through various hardships under the Ba'ath soldiers for several years after the war,” asserted Bodaghi. “It was the resistance of Lashgari under Iraqi forces which inspired me to write novel about him.”

He went on to say that 6410 is the only book published about Lashgari which is a very nice book; however, it fails to cove many aspects of his life.

Elsewhere in his interview, Bodaghi said he is planning to arrange a talk session with Abufarah, Lashgari’s jailor in Iraq.
