Children's reference library to interact with foreign countries

Director of Children and young adult's reference library said that the center is planning to promote book reading and exchange data and sources with other countries. He hoped that the center would change into an international library.
IBNA: Children and young adult's reference library has entered a new phase. Talking about the center's activities, the library's director said:" The reference library has decided to hold several programs for promoting reading among children. Holding session themed on book reading and releasing booklets and magazines about the activities of other libraries will be among the programs."
Vahid Toufani added:" The specialized sessions of promoting book reading will evaluate all factors which impact the matter. Criticism is a factor which we consider as well. During book criticism sessions the selected books of children and young adults are evaluated."
While introducing Toufani as the new library manager, the managing director of Institute of Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults asked him to plan a 5-yaer program to change the center into an international one. Talking about the matter, Toufani said:" In order to get international, the reference library should hold a complete collection of Persian works, hold more sessions on promoting book reading and then interact with researchers and scholars of children's literature."
Moreover he added that we hold the biggest and most complete sources of foreign books not only in Iran but in the region. However the section of Persian works are not complete.
He added:" Children and young adult's reference library has opened its website which can be accessed via the institute main website. Moreover in order to gain internationality we have released the researcher's results and bestowed scholarship to active scholars of children and young adult's books."
In other news, the library's expert said that the center is house to specialized works including literature, arts, education which are mainly based on children and young adults.
Currently the library holds 5606 members and accommodates more than 92,000 books, subscription of some 1000 national and foreign journals, more than 60 theses and more than 30,000 Persian and English magazines and a great number of non-book sources.
