Researcher and translator, Saleh Tabatabaee has rendered and compiled "Encyclopedia of Iranian Architecture and Arts culture" which entries are derived from the latest edition of 34-volume "Grove Dictionary of Art".

IBNA: Tabatabaee told IBNA that the "Encyclopedia of Iranian Architecture and Arts culture" is the most comprehensive Persian dictionary which will be presented on Iranian Architecture and Arts culture.

The compiled and translated work's entries are drawn from the latest edition of 34-volume "Grove Dictionary of Art". It envelops Iranian architecture and arts culture from pre-Islam era till the contemporary period and almost contains all Iran's traditional architecture and art branches. Moreover it covers a part of central and western Asia, he added.

He went on to say that besides allocating entries to noted Iranian artists the dictionary holds many other entries which assess the braches of architecture and arts in details as it explains significant Iranian arts expressions. Moreover the book introduces all Iranian ancient locations which enjoy artistic values as well as artistic works which exist is Iran's cities.

The translator of "Philosophy of art: a contemporary introduction" by Noel Carroll explained:" Moreover the book holds the most recent discoveries of researchers and their bibliography sources about artistic and architecture works."

He underlined that the encyclopedia is a reference work which hasn’t been published in Iran yet, moreover, the illustrated collection which was translated within 2 years is the most complete book authored about Iranian art.

Tabatabaee added:" The book's translation has concluded and I am currently correcting footnotes and notes."

He asserted that these types of books are reference and source works and they should be clear from any errors. So while translating if I encountered any problems I contacted the authors so the collection would be a perfect one, thus the work is being released as a compilation and translation.

Furthermore he said: "The collection is about all the arts except music so I thought that a music expression dictionary should be penned as well. A 24 volume dictionary about music and Iranian musicians is to be published in Iran.

Moreover he said that till the publication of "Encyclopedia of Iranian Architecture and Arts culture", its data will be updated for further publications.

A part of the book is allocated on Iran's contemporary artists who are famous internationally.

"Encyclopedia of Iranian Architecture and Arts culture" is to be published by Matn.
