  Bahman Dorri Akhavi replaced Mohsen Parviz

Dr Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, replaced Dr Mohsen Parviz, deputy minister of cultural affairs, with Bahman Dorri Akhavi. Dr Parviz has been working in this post since May 1385 (2006). Among his fundamental works in the field of book reading are founding the Jalal Al Ahmad Prize, ‘First Step’ book of the season, revival and reinforcemenr of ‘Parvin Etesami’ and ‘Fajr Poetry’ festivals, holding the first Iran and World Poets Conference, and establishment of IBNA (Iran Book News Agency) as unique book news agency in Iran and the world.
IBNA: Parviz said “Today I had a call from an authority in the ministry of culture who told me there would be changes in the ministry”. 

He continued, “So I told him that it is better for the new person to start his work early next week so that ministry works would be delayed, and I will gather up my things to give space for people’s works to be done”. 

Deputy Minister of culture also remarked, “Accordingly, I received an ordinance this afternoon where the name of Mr Dorri Akhavi has been devised as new Deputy Minister of cultural affairs”. 

Regarding the changes in managerial body of the country, Parviz said “Such changes are natural in the executive body and we cannot say that would lead to a great loss; sometimes it causes problems in some works or may even stop some activities, yet sometimes it may lead to growth and more dynamism”. 

Dr Parviz asserted, “During these four years of responsibility, I have tried to be help developing the infrastructures and naturally if the new authorities follows this procedure, they will definitely be successful”.
