Released Petroglyphs in Arabic Thuluth
Stone-inscriptions with the Thulth Style of Script by Mohammad Vahid Jazayeri is a bilingual (English-Persian) book. The volume is published by Ketab Aban in the Iranian market. IBNA: "Calligraphy is the first art for Iranians and western Asians," reads a part of the book's introduction by Jazayeri. "However, most of the research on the art has been undertaken by foreigners. In fact, they have introduced our art to us!"
In a talk with IBNA, Jazayeri held that rendition of exquisite Persian works into English makes them known to non-Persians. An introduction by Bahaodin Khoramshahi (research of Hafiz) and Ali Imani (writer of Kufi font in Iran) are included in the beginning of the book.
"After visiting Turkey and sighting historical petroglyphs in Istanbul, I made my mind to carry out a research work on the subject of Thuluth petroglyphs," said Jazayeri.
Stone-inscriptions with the Thulth Style of Script adopts a resourceful method to develop its theme, argues Khoramshahi on his account at the beginning of the book, and displays a detailed view of many hidden aspects of calligraphy. The book is one of a few works to consider instances of petroglyphs, tablets, manuscripts and coins in thuluth, kufi and naskh (all Arabic fonts). Id : 127801 |
