  IALC to establish literary criticism major in Iran

Ebrahim Khodayar, member of Iran Academy of Literary Criticism announced that the new managerial team headed by Nasrollah Emami tends to compile literary criticism syllabi as well as to establish literary criticism major and minors in the next five years.
IBNA: Referring to the results of the last general gathering held on Sunday (May 27) for the election of new managerial team, Khodayar said: “The new team’s main approach is to attempt to establish the literary criticism majors and minors in literature faculties and to compile the relevant syllabi for the field of study.” 

He added: “Since its establishment in 2007, the academy has made effective measures such as publication of Literary Criticism Quarterly that is the fifth out of 630 publishing journals in terms of affectivity, and now establishment of literary criticism minor in universities is the main concern of the academy; fortunately the necessary infrastructures are prepared and it will definitely take place in the next five years.” 

“In order to establish this field of study we have negotiated with literature professors and it should be admitted that it is a time-consuming procedure, yet are sure that necessary books and sources will be available in the coming years.” 

During the May 27 election held at Allameh Jafari Hall of Tarbiat Modares University, Nasrollah Emami was selected as the new head of the academy. Mohammad Parsanasab, Ebrahim Khodayar, Hussein-ali Ghobadi and Ferdows Aghagolzadeh are the main members of the academy while Hamidreza Shairi, Farzan Sojoodi, Maryam Husseini, and Alireza Anushirvani have just joined the managerial team of the academy. 

At the moment Iran Academy of Literary Criticism has 71 members.
