During the session of "Azarsa; an integrated system of Majlis digital library", education deputy of Majlis library said that by next week all of library's manuscripts and sources will enter the Azarsa system.

IBNA: "Azarsa; an integrated system of Majlis digital library" was held Sunday evening, May 6, with the participation of Zahra Abdullahi, mahmoud Nazari, Hussein Bagheri and Seyyedeh Afrooz Shokraee in the 25th Tehran International Book Fair's House of Literati.

Education deputy of Majlis library Abdullahi talked about the National Library's scanned manuscripts saying, in the first phase 23,500 manuscripts were scanned and the readers could receive the PDF files through the website. The works toke about 9 months and then we stared studying software which presented the sources to the readers.

We are using Azarsa system which currently holds 35,782 theses, manuscripts and … and by next week all of the Majlis library's sources will be included as well, he added.

Then Shokraee, the software expert of Azarsa system talked about the features of the software saying that the system presents services including web-based librarian services, saving sources, sending messages and disseminating news through SMS and emails.

The system holds interaction services as well including asking questions from the librarian, registering memorials for galleries, cooperation for updating and presenting suggestions, he added.

He then talked about the system's problems and said:" I think that the researchers who visit the Majlis library need a simple system for earching; accordingly the searching page should be simple while a simple search is a feature of good software.

Furthermore Nazari, who was attending the session as a representative of the Majlis Library said:" The picture's quality aren’t too good for downloading and since manuscripts have borders, their pictures don’t display the margins. Moreover the PDF filed are heavy as well and considering the internet's speed, we should find some solutions."

Shokraee went on to say that uploading the pictures take time and currently 30,000 manuscripts are available on the site and we have tried to present the works with a good quality.

The 25th Tehran International Book Fair is currently underway in Tehran and will run until May 12 at Tehran's Grand Imam Khomeini Prayer Ground with the motto of "A Quarter of a Century of Cultural Jihad".
