  ECO honors Iranian calligraphy maestro

Concurrent with the fifth ECO calligraphic exhibition held in Lahore's Alhamra gallery, two eminent calligraphers from Iran and Pakistan were awarded ECO's first degree art certificate.
IBNA: According to the Public Relations of ECO Cultural Institute, on the occasion of holding the fifth calligraphic exhibition in Pakistan, ECO First Degree Art Certificate was awarded to two calligraphers from Iran and Pakistan. 

During this awarding ceremony held in Pakistan with the presence of Punjab State Minister in Culture Mohiuddin Wani, ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) Director Hojjatollah Ayyoubi, and Iran's Consul General in Lahore Mohammad-Hossain Bani-Asadi along with a number of Iranian and Pakistani officials in order to honor two calligraphy masters Yadollah Kaboli-Khansari from Iran and Rashid Bat from Pakistan. 

Suggested by the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Supreme Council, Kaboli Khansari and Bat were honored by the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI). 

Meanwhile, 10 more Pakistani calligraphers were awarded ECO Cultural Institute's testimonial. 

The ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) aims to foster understanding among ECO member states and preserve their rich cultural heritage through common projects in the fields of media, literature, arts, philosophy, sport and education. 

Iran hosted the previous Eco calligraphy exhibition, titled The Land of the Sun in June, 2011, showcasing works by sixty calligraphers from Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria and Turkey. 

The 5th ECO Calligraphy Exhibition presented about 120 artworks by Iranian and Pakistani calligraphers at the gallery of Alhamra Cultural Building.
