"A comprehensive guide to classic music" unveiled
The unveiling ceremony of "A comprehensive guide to classic music" was held today morning, August 3 in Farhang Moaser publication. The book's translator, Reza Rezaee believes that the book could be a great guide for all interested individuals. IBNA: The session will be held with the attendance of the book's translator, Reza Rezaee, the head of Farhang Moaser publication, Davood Rezaee and a music expert Abul Hassan Mokhtabad who participated as the secretary.
Mokhtabad expressed his gratitude and said: "Farhang Moaser publication is the publisher of standard books which has marketed cultural and reference books during the past 3 decades."
He added: "With releasing reliable works the publication has encouraged other publishers to print reference works."
Moreover Mousaee said: "Farhang Moaser is a publication who releases reference books since 30 years."
From the very beginning the publication's work was based on a special field who publishes specialized works, he added.
Mousaee said: "During the past 30 years the publication's role in releasing scientific works; more than 80 per-cents."
He explained: "Farhang Moaser has released some 150 reference books which were released with basic printing methods including graphic, designing, paper and print. The publication's main activity is on publishing public encyclopedia and dictionaries but during the past recent years it is printing specialized dictionaries as well."
Rezaee said: "Some 3 years ago I got to know a collection entitled "Contemporary knowledge" of which I have published 11 volumes as the book is picked up for the collection as well." He went on to say that music reference books have been published in various languages and many works have been released in the filed; from 50 vols collections till 100-pages books. The collection was a top selection between all others as it contains all the aspects of classic music without entering the details.
Rezaee added: "Translating "A comprehensive guide to classic music" toke about a month as I encountered many problems." Rezaee went on to say that a 60-page index containing musicians names, historical names, plays and literary books was added to the books which is it self a encyclopedia.
Talking about the book's chapters he added: "The book starts from the year of 1000 and concludes in 1600 which was dubbed as "Initial Music". A great part of the book is allocated to the subject.
He added:" Since 1600-1750 was entitled "Baroque" which was a great development which was affected by political, social and cultural developments."
Moreover another period called "Classic" existed which occurs in 1750-1820. Since 1810-1920 music entered an era called Romantic in which many vital music works were produced. The other chapter is on "Romantic Opera" which is a combination of music and literature.
