Head of 4th university book fair appointed

Ali Akbat Touranian, publication manager of Shahre Ab, has been appointed as head of the 4th Specialized University Book Fair.
IBNA: Mohammad Reza Hatami, manager of the Cultural University Publishers' Association, said in an interview with IBNA that members of the association's board of directors have unanimously decided to announce Ali Akbar Touranian as the head of the 4th exhibition. Touranian was head of the 24th Tehran International Book Fair's university section.
As Hatami added, the fair has been held since 2008 parallel with the Book Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the association and support of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
The fair is aimed at heightening the status of university publications, updating the libraries of scientific and specialized centers as well as universities nationwide, and introducing the latest university resources.
Hatami added that so far the ministry of culture has announced its initial agreement with the arrangement of the fair and will assist the association with the project.
The 4th Specialized University Book Fair will be held from November 13 to 18, 2011.
