  Quran Int'l Festival to be held throughout the world

During a news conference which was held Tuesday morning, the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) explained the organization's Quranic activities and said that holding Quranic weeks and international Quranic festivals are among the planned programs which are to be held with the attendance of a group of publishers and Quranic researchers in Iran and throughout the world.
IBNA: ICRO's PR manager and advisor, Hussein Divsalar pointed out to a part of the center's cultural activities which are held across the borders and said that the conference is centered on explaining the organization's activities.

Talking about journalist's jobs in different media, the head of ICRO, Dr. Mehdi Mostafavi said that media is a cultural-strategic system and added:" According to the strategic document we have designed a 5 year program for working in the media which holds how to communicate with foreign countries' audience as well as national institutes which are active in the filed of culture.

Moreover he pointed out to the government's recent ratification and added:" According to the announcement, ICRO stands for forming coordination in the field of advertising-culture activities so the government's extraterritorial ties accomplish via the cooperation."

He went on to say that the 18th International Quran Fair, which is currently underway, is held by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

Emphasizing that during the holy month of Ramadan cultural weeks will be held in more than 30 countries he added:" Book fairs and Quranic software as well as the participation of artists in various artistic fields which hold Quranic themes will be among the programs. Moreover Quranic competitions will be held for the youths."

Sending 50 missioners to other countries in which more Iranian live will be among the other programs, he added while saying that during the Quran fair which is held in Iran, 40 artists and Quranic researchers, who will present their Quranic and cultural products, have been invited from 25 countries. Therefore the international section is slated to run Ramadan 10-17. The international part will be house to 15 invited international publishers who will present Quran and Etrat related books. Presenting more than 15,000 books has been anticipated.

In other news the head of ICRO said that concurrent with the international Quran fair some religion affairs ministers as well as Quranic activities' officials are invited form other countries to participate. Talking about the matter he explained that among the 9 invited countries 6 have announced their readiness. Hope that the step paves the way for introducing national capacities and further mutual interactions.

Another program is slated to run in which Islamic countries will introduce their traditions and customs which are usual in Ramadan, he added.

Moreover expanding the international aspect of Imam Reza (AS) festival will be among the other activities which will be executed with the cooperation of 31 countries.

He added that following the Islamic Revolution ICRO attended Iraq book fair in which the center presented more than 250,000 book titles.

As the fair was attended by 30 noted Iranian publishers, Al-hoda Int'l publication as well as Islamic Thought Foundation, affiliations to ICRO, presented their works in different languages.
