Children's Book Council to hold Fair of Andersen Award winning books
Children's Book Council will hold a fair accommodating a selection of books shortlisted for the 2012 Hans Christian Andersen Award. IBNA: The Council will mount a fair which will exhibit the four finalists and short-listed authors and illustrators.
During the opening ceremony Zohreh Ghaeni, Bahram Kalhornia and Kianoosh Qarib-pour will introduce and analyze some of Mohammad Ali Beniasadi's works, who was a nominee for the 2012 Hans Christian Andersen Award in the illustration section.
John Burningham (UK), Roger Mello (Brazil), Peter Sís (Czech Republic) and Javier Zabala (Spain) were the other nominees of the illustration section.
Moreover Sahar Tarhandeh, a member of the 2012 Andersen Award jury will present a report of the 2012 award.
The Hans Christian Andersen Awards is held annually by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) in Switzerland.
Sponsored by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, the awards are presented to a living author and illustrator whose complete works have made a lasting contribution to children’s literature.
The national branches of IBBY select the nominations and the recipients are selected by a distinguished international jury of children’s literature experts.
The fair will be held on April 29 in the research library of the Children's Book Council.
