Stability of POWs keeps imam’s culture alive, Mahdavi Kani

In the unveiling ceremony of the Charter of Clarity and Service, Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani said, “If we wish spirituality and divinity to remain, we must remain spiritual.”
IBNA: A book titled as the Charter of Clarity and Service was unveiled in a ceremony entitled as the Sunset of the Soil’s Son which was held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012) in the presence of Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Mahdavi Kani, Chairman of the Assembly of Experts, Hujatoleslam Mohammad Hassan Abutorabifard, Interim Vice President of the 9th Islamic Consultative Assembly, and a number of Sacred Defense POWs.
The ceremony was arranged at Andisheh Hall and was themed at unveiling the Charter of Clarity and Service which contains a complete set of speeches by the late Hujatoleslam Ali Akbar Abutorabifard.
In his keynote address, Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani expressed his happiness to be among Sacred Defense POWs and asserted that, “I assume the present dignity of the clergies a result of the sacrifices made by martyrs and the POWs… Our war prisoners are different from war prisoners of other nations in many respects because our POWs had a target in mind. Hence, they managed to influence the enemy and subdue them. During their captivity, the POWs did not merely idle around to spend some life time; rather they followed the path of prophets, imams and Imam Khomeini.”
He went on to say that Seyyed Ali Akbar Abutorabifard and his father were revered figures. “I met with the late Abutorabifard’s father at Ghazvin Mosque where I witnessed how the common people revered him… Such great men were renowned for their ethics and dedications.”
“In ethics, good words are important, but what is more important is good behavior. I advise my fellow clergies to attract the people with their behavior to have better and deeper impact on them,” he added.
He further directed his address towards the POWs present at the ceremony and said, “Your role in safeguarding the revolution is so crucial now that you have returned to the country. You may be subject to injustice in many cases, but what keeps Islam and imam’s culture alive is your stability in the path of revolution which will destroy the enemies.”
Later in the ceremony, the Charter of Clarity and Service and the manuscripts of the late Ali Akbar Abutorabifard were unveiled by Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani and Hujatoleslam Mohammad Hassan Abutorabifard. Moreover Abdolmajid Rahmanian, the book’s compiler, was honored.
