The winner of the Children's Books Ireland (CBI) Book of the Year Award has been revealed.

IBNA: According to news, Celine Kiernan wins Children's Book of the Year award.
 
Cavan author Celine Kiernan has won the top prize for her novel Into the Grey, and is the first author ever to be awarded both the Book of The Year Award and the Children's Choice Award. 

Set in the 1970s, the book tells the story of identical teenage twins Patrick and Dominic who are forced to move after a fire destroys their family home.
The winner of the Eilís Dillon award, which is awarded to a first time author or illustrator, was Paula Leyden for A Butterfly Heart. 

The judges also awarded prizes of to three other authors. Mark O'Sullivan won the Judges Special Award for his book My Dad is Ten Years Old, Oliver Jeffers was awarded the Honour Award for Illustration for Stuck, while Siobhan Parkinson won the Honour Award for Fiction for Matríóisce, a novel in Irish.
