During the session of "Heritage of Islamic world's cultural commonalities: Iran & Afghanistan", Afghan writer said that Iran and Afghanistan hold many cultural commonalities and for reinforcing them, books should be produced and book fairs should be held in which the common features should be displayed."

IBNA: The session was held in the 25th Tehran International Book Fair's House of Literati in which Molawi Karokhi said:" Ghazni used to be famous once and it has raised many cultural and scientific figures but several obstacles including the war, banned its progress."

He added:" Those who tried to guide mankind, including the scholars, were impressive figures in the great Islamic civilization's history. Islam and the Muslims made the early Iran's culture to progress."

Many foreign figures have talked about the Muslims for instance a French scholar who says that the Muslim's science was conveyed to Europe and Europe was influenced by the Muslim's scientific services.

He added: "Unfortunately our scholars failed to progress due to several reasons including war and poverty."

Karokhi noted:" We should learn our culture and revive it in order to survive the ignorance."

Iran and Afghanistan's culture moves in the same path. The countries' cultural figures including Ferdowsi, Hafez, Jami and Rumi joint them together, he added.

For developing Iran and Afghanistan's cultural commonalities books should be written and fairs should be held for displaying the works, Karokhi said.

Then Shokat Ali Mohammadi, Afghan researcher and author, delivered a speech.

He said:" Ghazni is selected as Afghanistan's cultural city and it is counted as the origin of culture and science production in the world of Islam which roots in its culture, history and the scholars' attempts."
Ghazni is Afghanistan's ancient city and has had different names during different periods of time. Ghazni is also known as Zabulistan. The name possibly covered a larger area in the past, as evident by the existence of a province in Afghanistan called Zabul at the foot of the Hindukush, (along the border with Pakistan). According to Persian mythology, Zabulistan was the country of Iranic hero Rostam. In Shahnameh, Zabulistan and Sistan are used interchangeably.

Moreover another Afghan researcher Qanbar Ali Tabesh said:" Ghazni has been chosen as the Islamic world cultural capital in 2013. The world of Islam owes Ghazni for different sciences including medicine, history, astronomy, poetry and Persian language."

Many Persian literary forms were formed during the Ghaznavian era. The style of Khorasani is unique in the history of Persian literature, a form which was created during the period.

Abu-Saeed Abol-Kheir was the first Persian poet who embedded mystic contexts as poems, he added.

Ghazni was a path towards Persian language's masterpieces. Shahnameh was formed during the Ghaznavian era which can indeed be an Iranian identity.

The session was held on Friday, May 11 in the 25th Tehran International Book Fair which will wrap up today.
