In cooperation with cultural and scientific institutions, universal conference of “Shahnameh Millennium” will be held in November. The programs of this conference include a survey of the subject of Shahnameh and Iranian nations, simultaneous conferences in Germany and Malaysia, and devising the bibliography of Ferdowsi studies.

IBNA: Head of Cultural Heritage research center, handicraft and tourism said “Many of those who have worked upon models of human ideology consider four axes for describing thought and its perspective to the world and other related issues. The relation of man with God, Men, himself and nature are four axes to be considered in this conference. 

Ahmad Mirza Kouchak Khoshnevis added, “With a quick look at Ferdowsi’s poetry, one can understand the kind of outlook and theology in Ferdowsi. All world ideologies in all periods try to define the relation of man to God and Ferdowsi’s ideology should be studied in the light of his own philosophy.” 

He then stated, “In order to deal with the relation of man with man in Shahnameh which is populated with different types of human beings, the researcher should first understand it and then categorize it. Also, it is necessary to find out how man defines his relation with himself.” 

Khoshnevis, editor of central institution for Iranian Big Shots said, “The relationship between man and nature is pretty significant in Shahnameh and we should find out where Ferdowsi’s ideas as an Iranian scholar leads to”. 

Nader Karimian, supervisor of center for common studies in Persian language and literature, mentioned that in the last 80 years all researches have been done on the language and added, “By holding this conference, we want to open up new windows to the studies of Shahnameh from cultural perspectives”. 

“Also, we hope to make grounds for the education and propagation of the culture of Shahnameh among the youth and Iranian youngsters, and this requires contribution and comments of academic members and other enthusiastic centers.” 

Dr Ali Rahbar, owner of Iran Zamin quarterly in Germany emphasized upon the Iranian identity and said “The greatest pride of Iranians is the high position they granted for man, the man cultured in Iranian-Islamic atmosphere whose duty and mission is somewhere between earth and heaven, and not like westerners who are either heavenly or earthly.” 

Head of Iran Manaviat Club added, “We also need to make use of these two heavenly and earthly criteria, dealing with such a man in Shahnameh and introducing him to the world can be the most significant purpose of this conference”. 

Rahbar suggested, “We should concentrate on the spiritual aspect of Ferdowsi ideology and show that epic in Iran begins with Ferdowsi. It must be said that the epic, humane, and theosophy make three pinnacles of a triangle that we should make them meet”. 

Other suggestions were made by the audience the most important of which is the society of cultural figures’ volunteering for contribution in this conference and presentation of films, articles, etc. also, students suggested a study of Shahnameh and Iranian nations, simultaneous conferences based in Germany and Malaysia and devising bibliography of Ferdowsi studies. 

It was also decided that suggestions would be studied in the next sessions at the research center. The year 2010 was nominated as “The Shahnameh Millennium” by UNESCO to commemorate the thousandth year of composing Shahnameh.
The scientific session on the survey of “Shahnameh Millennium” was held with the presence of authorities of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Research Center, academic members of the center and a number of enthusiasts at the gathering hall of that center.
