Ferdowsi commemoration due

Tehran’s Milad Tower will hold a commemoration for the noted poet Ferdowsi on Tuesday, May 15. Moreover next week, Bushehr will pay tribute to the poet as well.
IBNA: May 14 is marked as Iran’s National Ferdowsi Day and the commemoration will be a part of the day's programs in which Tehran's experts on naqqali and pardeh-khani will be honored.
The program is slated for Tuesday at Tehran's Milad Tower at 6pm.
In other news, the general secretary of Ferdowsi Foundation Yaser Movahed-far told IBNA that on May 19, Bushehr will honor the poet as well.
It will be held in one of the city's universities.
Naqqali is a style of storytelling dedicated to epic stories from Ferdowsi’s masterpiece Shahnameh. Another form of naqqali is called pardeh-khani, which is dedicated to tragic stories of Muslim leaders especially the Imams of the Shia.
Shahnameh, which is known as the “Book of Kings” in English, is the celebrated work of the epic poet Ferdowsi, in which the Persian national epic found its final and enduring form. It was completed in 1010. The Shahnameh millennium was accepted on UNESCO’s 2010 calendar of events.
