Articles of two Radio Festivals to be released
Radio deputy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) said that the selected articles of the 12th edition of the International Radio Festival and the 4th World Radios Conference will be released as books. The festivals will be held on May 15-17 in Zibakenar, Gilan province with the participation of 26 countries. IBNA: The press conference of the 12th edition of the International Radio Festival and the 4th World Radios Conference was held in Tehran on Monday. It was attended by the Radio deputy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Mohammad Hussein Soufi, secretary of the International Radio Festival Behrooz Razavi-nejhad and the representatives of the mass media.
Soufi pointed out the growing number of radio listeners, saying the number of listeners grew 30 percent in the last Iranian year that ended on March 19, compared to the number for the year before. He added that the rate of listeners’ satisfaction with radio programs also increased by 80 percent.
The 12th edition of the International Radio Festival and the 4th World Radios Conference is slated for May 15-17.
He added:" The festival is a key opportunity to present our colleagues' innovations."
The festival will be held in order to achieve creative ideas, improve our colleagues' scientific knowledge in the field of radio, exchanging experiences and opinions as well as honoring the selected figures, he said.
Soufi added that the festival will be held in two domestic and international levels.
The domestic section, which will be held in sections including Rouyesh (growth) and Routine, different programs have been received from provincial and domestic channels showing 11 percent increase compared to the number of works submitted to the previous edition.
A total of 512 works from domestic radio producers were submitted to the festival's secretariat.
Islamic Awakening is another section planned for this edition of the festival, he added.
In other news he said that 296 works from foreign producers have been submitted to the secretariat of the festival showing a 63 percent growth and international section compared to the number of works submitted to the previous edition.
He then talked about the 4th World Radio Conference saying that a total of 163 articles were received in 8 sections and 16 top papers will be awarded.
Countries including the US, Germany, France, Ireland, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, the Philippines, Serbia, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Tajikistan and Afghanistan will attend the festivals.
The International Radio Festival of Iran is the biggest event in the Middle East and North Africa that receives huge number of entries from radio stations and independent producers every two years from all around the globe.
