8 Aug 2012 11:53
Javad Mohaghegh, scientific secretary of the 6th Gam-e Aval Literary Award, said: “The award is held annually by the Book House Institute in order to expand and deepen the written culture, introduce and encourage immature writers and promote the culture of book reading.”
IBNA: Encouraging the young generation to read precious books, writing and composing as well as researching is a precious work, he said and added: “During the first days of the first Gam-e Aval Literar Awared(First-step Literary Award) we decided to decentralize the award, currently the award is held in one of the province’s capital city. Moreover, in every province a local award is presented to the province’s debut writer or poet.”

He added: “Many other awards including the Book of the Season Award, following the Gam-e Aval Award, try to hold their annual festivals in different provinces. Other festivals like the book festival of Institute of Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) are keen to hold their closing ceremonies in other provinces as well; which indeed indicates that other provinces and the officials welcome the idea of holding the festivals in other provinces.”

Scientific secretary of the 6th Gam-e Aval Literary Award added: “The first three editions considered the authors of creative literature (poetry and fiction) but the field of religion was added to the festival holding 8 subjects and 4 subcategories.”

The officials of the Book House Institute acceded to add different fields and subjects if the related books of immature writers reach a quorum, he added.

Talking about the features of the Gam-e Aval Literary Award he added: “Most of the festivals only invite and praise the work’s author but the Gam-e Aval Award invites and praises selected publishers as well.”

Talking about the host of the upcoming award he added: “The 6th Gam-e Aval Literary Award will be held in Golestan. So far the works have been assessed in three sessions.”

Mohaghegh finally said that the closing ceremony of the 6th Gam-e Aval Literary Award will be held on October 29, 2012. So far 593 poetry books, 166 poetry books for children, 362 fictions, 159 story books for children, 101 books themed on ethics and mysticism, 100 books on Quranic sciences, 152 books of Kalam as well as 12 books on hagiography have been evaluated.
