First volume of Persian docs in India to be published by Iran

4 Aug 2010 13:09
The first volume of Persian documents which exist in India's National Docs center is to be published by Iran's Culture House in New Delhi.
IBNA: According to the public relations department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the head of India's National Docs center invited the head of Iran's Culture House in New Delhi, Dehgahi to attend the policymaking session of India's National Docs center's historical documents and manuscripts. The meeting was held in order to mention plans on manuscripts collections and historical documents which exist in the organization.

During the session, the head of India's National Docs center, Prof. Moshir Al-hassan said: "Many Persian, Arabic, Urdu and Indian manuscripts exist in the center, which are indexed as several books."

He added: "India's National Docs center is interested to publish some of the significant works which were inscribed on different sciences including history, literature, music, religion (Islam and Hinduism), medicine and Travel literature. Moreover some of the works contain precious information about some of the regional countries as Iran, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and central Asia."

Moreover the head of Iran's Culture House in New Delhi, Dehgahi said:" India's National Docs center should consider editing and publishing the center's docs as well as publishing the vital historical docs."

He added: "While visiting the organization I went through some unique and significant historical documents, publishing them may be interesting for researchers, certainly as a dark part of Iran-India's ties during the past 3 centuries will be unveiled. A good sample could be letters sent by Qajar court to India's regent and England's government in India as well as Fathali Shah and Mirza Shadfee Mazandarani's letters."

Moreover he explained that the problem of publishing manuscripts is the lack of capable researchers to edit Persian manuscripts in India; as only some professors can edit the Persian manuscripts so many works can't be released. But the 2nd method of releasing the manuscripts are scanning and photographing them.

In this method the scripts are prepared and published without editing so many scripts could be printed. Moreover researchers and libraries could use them as well.

He went on to say that the existing English and Persian documents are mostly on Iran-India's ties as well as our interested field. These manuscripts should be printed soon as well. Currently we are preparing the first volume of Persian docs which exist in India's docs' center and hopefully it is to be published by Iran's culture house in India.

He finally underlined:" Cooperating with the National Docs Center, Iran's Culture House is willing to publish Persian manuscripts. If the center provides the financial budget then the culture house will present its cultural experiences for preparing and publishing the works."
