Deputy Minister of Islamic Guidance and Culture in cultural affairs said: “During the period of 1978-2011 a total of 730,000 book titles were released in Iran, half belonging to the last seven years (the 9th and 10th government).

IBNA: According to the public relations department office of the Islamic Guidance and Culture Ministry, Bahman Dorri said: “During the visit of the government’s officials with the Leader, the president briefly talked about the growth of the books released during the 9th and 10th government which was broadcasted by IRIB as well.” 

According to official statistics, during the last 7 years the number of publications have boosted in the country and despite the obstacles the number of first prints and reprints increase every year, Dorri said. 

In 1384, 53,553 book titles, in 1385, 53,685 book titles, in 1386, 56,790 book titles, in 1387, 57,990 book titles, in 1388, 60,702 book titles, in 1389, 64,952 book titles and in 1390, 68,665 book titles were released.
