In the ceremony held to honor the codicology and indexing master Abdolhussein Haeri, Bahman Dorri, Cultural Deputy of Guidance Ministry, said revering dignitaries should be done while they are still alive.
IBNA: A ceremony was arranged on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the House of the Literati to pay tribute to the great Iranian codicologist and indexer Abdolhussein Haeri in the presence of Bahman Dorri, Cultural Deputy of Guidance Ministry.
In his short speech, Dorri highlighted the scientific level of Haeri and said, “I am here to renew my affection towards this great master. This ceremony is being held to celebrate the achievements of Haeri in the fields of codicology and indexing and to introduce him to the younger generation as the representative of Iran’s cultural engineering.”
Dorri went on to say that most of such ceremonies held in the past few years honored only demised dignitaries, “but we are trying to celebrate the illuminati before their death which looks to be more valuable for them.”
After his address, Dorri gave a memorial statue to Haeri provided by the Book House Institute. Besides, another statue from the National Library and Archives Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran was given to Haeri as well.
