Translated by Razi Hirmandi

  Wonderstruck hits Persian book market

7 Feb 2012 12:51
After the success of "The invention of Hugo Cabret" in Persian market, Razi Hirmandi translated Brian Selznick's "Wonderstruck". The book will be released by Ofogh Publications.
IBNA: Having translated Selznick's "The Invention of Hugo Cabret", Hirmandi renders "Wonderstruck into Persian.

Like the previous novel, "Wonderstruck" is about a boy named Ben who lives with his aunt and uncle after his mother's death.
Ben longs for the father he has never known. A girl named Rose dreams of a mysterious actress whose life she chronicles in a scrapbook. When Ben discovers a puzzling clue in his mother's room, and Rose reads an enticing headline in the newspaper, both children set out alone on desperate quests to find what they are missing.

Ben's story, set in 1977, is told entirely with words, while Rose's story, set fifty years earlier, is told entirely with pictures. The two stories weave back and forth before ultimately coming together.
Brian Selznick (born July 14, 1966) is a Caldecott-winning American author and illustrator of children's books.

The book is converted into Persian by Razi Hirmandi and will be released by Ofogh Publications.
