Manuscript's expos to be held annually in NLAI
During the opening ceremony of “Quran and Etrat” fair, director of the National Library and Archives of Iran(NLAI) said: “Manuscript’s Exhibition will be held every year. The National Library is house to more than 35,000 manuscripts which will be scanned by the end of summer. They will be uploaded to the organization’s website.” IBNA: Concurrent with the 2nd day of Ramadan, the “Quran and Etrat” fair opened in the National Library and Archives of Iran. The fair is themed on Persian hand-written Qurans.
During the ceremony, director of the National Library Ishagh Salahi said: “Currently the mankind needs religious instructions more than any other time. A pile of problems exist in places in which humans have indeed ignored whatsoever God has sent for our guidance.”
He added: “Beside a silent Quran, we need a talking Quran as well. The Infallibles Household members are the talking Qurans which we should listen to.”
Salahi added: “The Nahjolbalagheh which is presented at the fair is a crucial source for research works. The organization’s deputy office announced that more than 1600 Quranic manuscripts exist in the National Library which is indeed a unique collection for researching.” Moreover during the past recent year, more than 133 copies of Quranic manuscripts were added to the library of which 21 were selected and presented at the fair.
He added: “We have decided to hold annual exhibitions of the National Library’s manuscripts. Currently the library accommodates 35,000 manuscripts which will be scanned by the end of summer. They will be uploaded to the organization’s website.”
He went on to say that from the 10th day of the holy month of Ramadan the pavilion of the National Library at the 20th International Quran Exhibition will display some manuscripts.
In other news, the deputy of the National Library and Archives of Iran Habibullah Azimi said: “According to the previous years, Qurans which were purchased or donated to the library since the previous Ramadan so far, will be displayed at a fair.”
Since the previous Ramadan, the National Library has purchased 731 manuscripts and 380 lithograph books. Moreover 34 manuscripts and 280 lithograph books were donated to the center, he added. Id : 143973 |
