Culture Minister visiting director of SARA

  "Precious Iranian books to be converted into Chinese"

Visiting Wang Zuo'an, director of China’s State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA), Iran’s Islamic Guidance and Culture Minister said: “Many Iranian books have been converted into Chinese so far and since they have been received warmly, other precious Iranian books will be translated into Chinese as well.”
IBNA: During the meeting, held this morning- September 9, the Islamic Guidance and Culture Minister welcomed the director of China’s State Administration for Religious Affairs and his group saying: “The presence of Chinese in Iran, with an object of studying in seminaries or universities, expands the Islamic-Iranian culture.” 

Talking about the translation of Iranian works into Chinese, Seyyed Mohammad Husseini added: “Last year, a Chinese translation of the holy Quran, by a Chinese student studying in Iran, won Iran’s Book of the Year Award. The book is among Iran’s honors.” 

The minister added: “Moreover other precious books, sources and works are being rendered into Chinese.” 

Husseini added: “We should present our own sources to China in order to present pure Iranian culture. The establishment of China’s State Administration for Religious Affairs and the recognition of China’s Islamic Association were indeed positive movements which influenced the wisdom of China’s Muslims.” 

In other news, he said that Iran is ready to receive Chinese students. Iranian students who study in China as well as Chinese students who study in Iran will indeed expand Iran and China’s relations.” 

Iranian Culture Minister added: “Iran and China enjoy great cultural ties. Since I have been appointed as the minister- since the past three years- different Chinese delegations have traveled to Iran. The friendly ties of Iran-China date back to the establishment of the Silk Road.” 

Furthermore Wang Zuo'an, director of China’s State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA) delivered a speech. He said: “Coordinating China’s different religions are among the organization’s responsibilities.”
Moreover the center executes religious politics and supports religious freedom. It helps the cooperation and communication of different religions in China as well, he added. 

Wang Zuo'an said that more than 20 million Muslims and more than 40,000 religious leaders live in China while the country is house to 35,000 mosques and we are keen to increase our cooperation with Iran with an object of cultural promotion. 

Finally Husseini said: “The director of China’s Islamic Association has traveled to Iran five times. We will warmly welcome the visit of the directors of other associations for them to get familiar with the rich Islamic-Iranian culture.”
