Culture Minister:

  “Living cultural figures should be honored”

During a ceremony held on remembering the dignitaries, Minister of Islamic Guidance and Culture said: “Commemorating Iran’s late cultural figures and introducing their works are precious however the living cultural dignitaries should be praised as well.”
IBNA: The ceremony, which was held in order to honor the artistic and cultural figures, was attended by Minister of Islamic Guidance and Culture as well as some the cultural officials and the literati.

Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Shah-abadi, Ayatollah Abbasali Amid Zanjani, Ayatollah Abdullah Nurani, Ayatollah Mohammad Sadeghi Tehrani, Hujjat al-Islam Ali Abulhassani, Commander martyr Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam, martyr Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, Jalal Zolfonun, Simin Daneshvar and Parviz Rajabi were among the late scholars who were honored during the ceremony.

During the commemoration the minister said: “ Last year such a ceremony was held by the Society for the Appreciation of Cultural works and Dignitaries in which many scholars were introduced to the society. Hopefully such ceremonies will be held again.”

He added: “Islam also says that knowledge and science is the base of superiority and eminence. Accordingly such figures should be introduced to the society particularly the young generation.”

Moreover he said that when Europe was living in its dark ages, Islam was flourishing and raising several scholars and figures, he added.
