During the commemoration of veteran Iranian journalist Hussein Ghandi, Majid Rezaeean said:" Journalism should have a practical function and Ghandi is a symbol of practical journalism in Iran."

IBNA: A ceremony was held on Sunday, May 20, for honoring Hussein Ghandi which was attended by a group of communications professors in Soureh University.

During the ceremony the chancellor of Soureh University Omid Ali Masoudi talked about the vanguard journalist saying that Ghandi's achievements in journalism were the formation of a news piece holding double headlines and including the news background; the 2nd issue created feature stories in journalism.

One of Ghandi's major works was the publication of "Modern journalism", he added.

He then talked about his other book named "Professional journalism" saying that the book is the source which is taught in its field.

Moreover he went on to say that communications isn’t a form or tool and as the media updates we shouldn’t be weak in presenting our messages.

Ghandi is a symbol of practical journalism in Iran, he noted.

Finally Hussein Ghandi was honored for 40 years of journalism's efforts.
