Negotiations underway for Iranian publishers at London Book Fair

29 Oct 2011 12:52
Secretary of the Tehran Union of Publishers and Booksellers says Iranian publication companies may take part in the 41st London Book Fair thanks to negotiations that are underway to that effect with London Union of Publishers.
IBNA: In an interview with IBNA, Mahmud Amuzegar said Iranian exhibitors were jammed in some red tape made by the British government last year to issue visas and the UK councilor in the Islamic Republic of Iran failed to display a satisfactory cooperation with Iranians.

Therefore, the union has committed itself to run negotiations with London Union of Publishers to resolve probable issues to prevent last year's disorganization by the UK embassy.

Elsewhere in his interview, Amuzegar underlined the incumbency of attending world events on Iranian publishers and major booksellers and stated that the LBF after four decades has turned out as a leading market place for publishers of the world.

With over 250 seminars and 24,500 exhibitors from around the globe, the London Book Fair encompasses a broad spectrum of the publishing industry at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, Warwick Road, London, SW5 9TA from 16 to 18 April 2012.
