It is predicted that by the end of Mazandaran Book Fair as much as US$450,000 books will be sold. So far and in its first five running days, the book fair has sold some US$250,000 books.

IBNA: The book fair will run through February 9, 2010 in Sari, Mazandaran. 

Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has issued a 40% discount on the books which has attracted large numbers of visitors to the book fair. 

Half of the discounts are given to the books by the cultural deputy of guidance ministry for provincial book fairs in the form of electronic gift cards. 

At Mazandaran book fair most of the gift cards were tokens of 50,000 tumans (almost $50). 

Moreover, the ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has granted some $300,000 subsides for the books sold at the showcase. 

The book fair has been running since January 28 and will run through February 9.
