Manager of Center for the Study of Saadi, Kurush Kamali Sarvestani emphasized on the necessity of lowering the prices of ancient Persian literature works in order to attract readers as well as production of series themed on the life of Persian classic literature figures including Saadi.
IBNA: In a conversation with IBNA, Kurush Kamali Sarvestani said:" Reading the text of books including Bostan and Gulistan is one of the works which can be done about Saadi's works. Among the great poet's works, Gulistan is counted as a great treasure in Persian prose."

He believes that the language of Saadi is close to today's language saying We shouldn't forget that rewriting a work in which we only replace its old words and terms with new ones, only diminishes its literary value. In fact when we rewrite the work, we fail to get familiar with Saadi and his works.

Manager of Center for the Study of Saadi added:" Old works should be released beautifully and precisely, moreover it shouldn’t be expensive. Like some of the European publishers who consider subsidies for classic literary works."

He added: "The an action paves the way for expanding classic literature, but unfortunately such kind of institutes or organizations don’t exist in Iran's print industry. Such centers can print a selection of ancient Persian literature works through allocating a budget for their print in order to reduce their price."

He added:" Such a process can be a solution for expanding literature in particular classic literature. A beautiful print, color and design, selecting appropriate prints and layouts are significant points which should be considered for the presentation of classic literature especially Saadi's works."

He then talked about books in the virtual world saying that these days reading paper books compared to e-books, the programs of virtual webs, radio, TV and cinema is decreasing. So such methods should be used for the presentation of Saadi's works and generally ancient Persian literature.

He added:" The revised text of Bostan and Gulistan should be released as e-books."

TV series have millions of viewers. Thus such works can be themed on great Persian poets including Saadi and Hafez in order to introduce them to the people; since our culture is mostly oral, he said.

20th April is marked as Saadi Day in Iran.
