Falsafeh released a collection of ten Tajik legends entitled as 'Rustam Jan and Aftab Khan', penned by Hekmat Nemat and translated into Persian by Saeid and Raheleh Fazeli Jah.

IBNA: Legend is a common literary form in Tajikistan. Most legends express the sorrows, dreams and imaginations of human beings that are meant to distance man from problems of the real world.

Tajik people often gathered up in long winter nights and began to tell tales of legendary nature. You can hardly find a Tajik who does not have a legend by heart. In the absence of written literature, the legends were orally conveyed by word of mouth.

The book 'Rustam Jan and Aftab Khan' containing ten Tajik legends is penned by Hekmat Nemat and converted into Persian by Saeid and Raheleh Fazeli Jah. The translators have attempted to preserve the tone and intonation of Tajik Farsi in their renditions and have offered the closest equivalents in Persian. The foreword to the book is written by Tajik researcher Shah-Mansoor Shah-Mirza.

'The Courageous Girl', 'Pahlavan Salim', 'Iraj the Demon-Killer', 'Three Brothers' and 'Bahram nad Bahman' are some Tajik legends included in the volume. Accompanied with interesting illustrations, the book familiarizes Iranians better with Tajik Farsi.

'Rustam Jan and Aftab Khan' is penned by Hekmat Nemat and released in Iran by Falsafeh Publications in 1100 copies and 178 pages.
