Dorri in an exclusive interview with IBNA: Over half a million people visited TIBF during the first 2 days
Director of the 25th Tehran International Book Fair Bahman Dorri said:" During the first two days of the 25th Tehran International Book Fair, more than 700,000 people have visited which indeed was a great record." IBNA: The people welcomed the 25th Tehran International Book Fair warmly. During the first two days, the number of visitors broke the records, Dorri said.
He added:" Last year, some 60,000 to 100,000 people visited the fair during the first day, but this year the number boosted to 260,000 on the first day while some 440,000 people visited the fair during the 2nd day."
Director of the 25th Tehran International Book Fair went on to say that the number of visitors will increase as the book fair's final days approach.
Various programs for "Quarter of a century"
Dorri then talked about the programs of the "Quarter of a century" ceremony saying that on Tuesday, May 5, at 6pm a celebration will be held as A Quarter of a Century of Cultural Jihad and on the eve of Hazrat Fatima (SA) birthday anniversary which will be attended by Iran's parliamentary (Majlis) speaker Ali Larijani.
He then talked about the book fair's other official program; its closing ceremony. He explained:" On Saturday, May 12, the book fair's closing ceremony will be held with the attendance of Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadegh Larijani. During the ceremony some organizers of the previous editions and selected publishers will be honored and the 25th edition's best stalls will be hailed as well."
He went on to say that the book fair's doors open to the public at 9; however the official opening time is 10. The fair closes at 8pm though we have decided to increase the visiting timings on holidays, he added.
The 25th Tehran International Book Fair is currently underway in Tehran and will run until May 12 at Tehran's Grand Imam Khomeini Prayer Ground with the motto of "A Quarter of a Century of Cultural Jihad".
