Nimier visits Iran with the Queen of Silence

'The Queen of Silence' (La Reine du silence) is the title of a novel by Marie Nimier that Saeideh Bugheiri has converted into Persian. It relates the attempts of a girl to get to know her father.
IBNA: Nimier is a French writer not known in Iran, said Bugheiri, translator of 'The Queen of Silence'. Her father has been quite a renowned writer in France and in this book Marie Nimier sets the life of her father as the main subject of the novel and expresses her feelings and understanding of her father in this quasi-realistic work.
Bugheiri added: "Now a university professor herself, Nimier lost her father when still young and as she has stated in the book, she hardly remembers his visage. Therefore, she refers to acquaintances and her father's notes in order to find him out once again.
Translator of 'The Queen of Silence' went on to say that the main character of the story is attempting to imagine the true figure of her father through right and sometimes wrong information she receives from his old companies. Meanwhile, she discovers bitter and sad truths about him as well.
Saeideh Bugheiri is the translator of works such as Manfred Bieler's "Still wie die Nacht", Arthur Schnitzler's "Die griechische tanzerin und andere novellen", Jean-Louis Fournier's "Où on va, papa?", Jean-Philippe Toussaint's "Faire l'amour", Gilles Leroy's "Alabama Song", and Francois Weyergans's " Trois jours chez ma mere".
"The Queen of Silence" will be published by Nekoorad Publications as the first work by Nimier to be introduced to Iranian readers.
